TORONTO -- Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley was voted into the Major League Soccer all-star team on Wednesday. Bradley is one of eight players selected to the team who also played in this years World Cup in Brazil. The MLS all-stars will compete against German giants Bayern Munich in Portland on Aug. 6. "As the quality of the league continues to go up, there are more and more better players," said Bradley. "And so its certainly something to be proud of." Bradley represented the United States under head coach Jurgen Klinsmann at the World Cup, starting in all four matches and picking up one assist. Bradleys U.S. World Cup teammates Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City), Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders FC), Omar Gonzalez (L.A. Galaxy), and goalkeeper Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) were also named to the all-star team Wednesday. Landon Donovan (L.A. Galaxy), Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls), and Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders) round out the rest of the fan-voted selections. TFCs Julio Cesar and Jermain Defoe were close to the leading vote-getters at their respective positions, but finished outside the vote. The 26-year-old Bradley is in his first season with Toronto FC after the club reached a transfer agreement with Italian Serie A club AS Roma and signed the American international as a designated player in January. He has two goals in a combined nine appearances for TFC in all competitions, and he joins Ronnie OBrien, Jimmy Brennan and Dwayne De Rosario on Toronto FCs all-time all-stars player list.
